Women Who Inspire: Mimi Peeters
Avtor Ziva Javersek
There’s a gentle depth in the way Mimi Peeters (known on Instagram as @mimiennes.home) moves through the world, an instinctive sensitivity to light, texture, and the quiet details that give life its meaning. A creator shaped by art, memory, and motherhood, she captures beauty not through perfection, but through sincerity. Her photographs feel like still breaths: soft, thoughtful, and rooted in the slow rhythms of everyday life. Guided by the legacy of her father’s passion for photography, she creates with emotion and intention, choosing pieces and moments that echo her values: timelessness, honesty, and mindful simplicity. At home, where her creativity unfolds most naturally, she observes the subtle poetry of family life: curious children, shifting sunlight, objects chosen to last, and rituals that anchor the day. In conversation with Viva’s, she reflects on authenticity, sustainability, and the joy she finds in the small, unspoken moments that shape a life. Her world is one of quiet elegance and heartfelt presence, a reminder that true beauty often lives in the things that grow slowly, and stay.
Viva's products featured in her photos are Vera Bag Espresso, Freya Bag Rich Black, Slow Days Tote Bag and Viva's Journal.

1. What does creating photo and video content mean to you?
My dad was a hobby photographer, and like for many girls, my father was the most influential figure in my life. Creating photo and video content connects me to him. It feels like a way of carrying his passion forward—I find him in myself through photography.
2. How do you select pieces for your work? What qualities must they have to truly convince you?
There are many aspects I consider, but the most important is alignment. I choose to work with brands that resonate with me, those that value sustainability, quality, and timeless design. These elements are essential for me.
3. What does real beauty mean to you?
Real beauty is authenticity, something or someone that doesn’t try to be anything other than what it truly is. It’s found in sincerity, simplicity, and the quiet confidence of being genuine.
4. What brings you joy?
Watching my children explore the world with curiosity and freedom brings me immense joy. Through them, I rediscover wonder in ordinary things. I love guiding them, supporting them, and being there as they grow. I find joy in being their shepherd.
5. When choosing furniture, clothing, and accessories, do you generally look for the same type of quality, or do your criteria change depending on the purpose?
I always look for longevity and timelessness. I dislike buying new things season after season. I prefer to choose well, choose once, and truly live with the pieces I bring into my life.
6. In your opinion, what reflects good taste?
Good taste is the ability to create without trying too hard. It’s natural, intuitive, and effortless.
7. What’s always in your bag?
I always carry my water bottle, my journal, my favorite pen, a sudoku, something to read, and a small makeup pouch.
8. What is your passion, what inspires you?
Art is my biggest passion. I create art, I collect art, and I’m always on the search for vintage pieces. My life revolves around it. I’m very easily inspired -by thrift stores, architecture, nature, or even a single beam of sunlight on an old building. Inspiration lives everywhere for me.
9. What does your day-to-day life look like? How do you like to start and end your day?
My day starts early, with coffee before sunrise. I work at my desk until around noon, then have lunch. My afternoons are often dedicated to product photography: styling, staging, and shooting. I usually end my day around 22:00 by reading in bed.
10. Your creative focus is often centered around the home. What does a true feeling of home mean to you?
I feel incredibly lucky to work from home. It’s the most precious place for me. The true feeling of home is rooted in memories, emotions, and the presence of loved ones. It’s a place where you feel safe, understood, and free to be yourself. A place of giving and receiving love, unconditionally.
11. Exciting travels or peaceful time at home?
I always prefer peaceful time at home.
12. What does sustainability mean to you?
Sustainability means being mindful of what we consume, what we buy, use, and throw away. It’s about meeting our needs today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
